More than 150 local business leaders attended a Business Breakfast organised by local delivery vehicle North Northants Development Company (NNDC) and supported by Business Link to hear the latest regeneration news and growth proposals for North Northamptonshire.
Yesterday’s (Tuesday 3 November) event, which was held at the Kettering Conference Centre, provided local business people with an overview of the opportunities that development plans can offer businesses across the sub-region.
NNDC’s Director of Investment and Marketing Nick Bolton, who presented an overview of successes to date and outlined the ambitious growth strategy for the sub-region - the largest growth area outside London – explained,
“This event outlines the scale of the opportunity we have in North Northamptonshire. By working to a clear framework for delivering sustainable growth in the region, through strong private and public sector partnerships and with the commitment of the local authorities we are creating an environment for huge investment in the area.”
“There are real opportunities for local companies to benefit from the region’s development and the long-term success of this vision is reliant on the area’s local businesses, which will stimulate economic growth by increasing output and creating jobs; making North Northamptonshire one of the UK’s most desirable places to live, work and visit.”
The event also included presentations from Chris Mallender, Chief Executive of Corby Borough Council, David Oliver, Chief Executive of East Northants Council, James Wilson, Corporate Director at Borough Council of Wellingborough and Paul Thomas, Development Manager, Kettering Borough Council, who discussed the latest town centre regeneration projects that are taking shape in Corby, Kettering, Rushden and Wellingborough.
