NNDC invites business leaders to take part in free breakfast networking event

22 October 2010

North Northants Development Company (NNDC), with support from Business Link, is hosting a FREE Business Breakfast on Thursday 25 November at the Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel in Corby.

The NNDC Business Breakfast, entitled From economic recovery to long-term growth, is designed to provide a convenient and informal opportunity for local businesses of all sizes to network with other companies active in the sub-region.

The event, which will run from 7.45am – 9.35am, will also provide local companies with a forum to share their views on what needs to be done to create long-term confidence in the North Northamptonshire economy.

A month on from the Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review, the breakfast will be a timely opportunity to consider the impact of spending cuts on regeneration and growth proposals for the sub-region and how the public and private sector can work in partnership to ensure sustained progress.

Simon Evans, Chief Executive of NNDC, the Local Delivery Vehicle responsible for managing and delivering sustainable growth, will provide guests with the latest news on regeneration initiatives, long-term planning and major infrastructure projects across North Northamptonshire.

Simon Evans, Chief Executive of NNDC, said:

“The Business Breakfast is always a popular event so I would advise people to book early to ensure a place. Given current economic conditions, who you know and making new contacts is more important than ever so local business should not miss out on this networking opportunity.”

Business Link will also provide guests with up to date advice on the best way to source business support and funding in the current economic climate.  Stephen Smith, Chief Executive of EMB Ltd, the organisation that provides local access to the Business Link service encourages North Northamptonshire businesses to attend. He said:

“This is a great opportunity to find out what help and support is available locally to assist your business as it looks to the future.  I and members of the business support team will be on hand to discuss your business needs and also the implications of the Coalition Government’s spending review on your business.”

There will be a Q&A session for guests to ask questions of speakers and have their say on the key issues facing the local and national economies.
