Work has started on a new development of restaurants and quality apartments on an old car park site next to the newly refurbished Market Place. This will see a total of 9,000sqft of restaurant space and 10 high quality apartments with resident parking provided at basement level come to the area. The new restaurant buildings will give people in the town somewhere to enjoy a bite to eat and sit and catch up with friends and family. The new buildings will bring both businesses and residents to the area contributing to the feel of the Market Place as an area that people enjoy and want to return to.
The work is being paid for entirely from funding attracted from outside of the borough known as the Growth Area Funds.
Work is due for completition early Autumn 2011.
