Isham Bypass

Northamptonshire County Council has advertised a £20m project to build the A509 Isham Bypass between Kettering and Wellingborough.

The 18 month construction project involves building a two-lane dual carriageway of approximately 2.5 miles in length running from the Pytchley roundabout at Junction 9 of the A14.

It will pass to the west of Isham before rejoining the A509 Wellingborough Road between Hill Top Road and Great Harrowden.

The new road will reduce the number of road accidents, cut road congestion, improve conditions for cyclists and pedestrians and improve transport times between Wellingborough and Kettering.

Work was due to start on site in August 2010, however the decision over funding for the project has been put off by the Government until 2015.
