£2.5m of Government funding has been secured to commence work on the High Street Development Site project in 2010. Currently used as a car park, this 2.5 hectare site is located to the North-West of the town centre – bordered by the High Street, Jackson’s Lane, West Street and Oxford Street.
This development will form the first phase of the regeneration programme and provide an opportunity for town centre living in Wellingborough.

The overall aim is to improve the vitality and viability of underperforming Brownfield land and to extend the town centre ‘offer’ as a whole. It is envisaged that this will be achieved through increasing the quality, range and intensity of uses on the site.
A distinctive, vibrant, desirable and safe place to live, this area will retain car parking facilities and its development will also encourage improved retail facilities and opportunities for town centre employment.
The Borough Council has appointed professional property agents and marketing of this exciting commercial development began in early 2010.
