Opened in July 2006, Adrenaline Alley is one of the biggest parks for indoor BMX biking, skateboarding and inline skating in the UK. Adrenaline Alley is the brainchild of Mandy Young, a local mother who was determined to help tackle anti-social behaviour by providing a safe and secure environment for young people to participate in urban sports.
Based in a former chicken factory on the Weldon North Industrial Estate, this award winning social enterprise has hosted more than 93,000 visitors.
Adrenaline Alley has a proactive approach to engagement with community groups and harder to reach members of society. It is backed by a number of funders including SEEM, Sport England, WREN, Grantscape, Bee Bee Developments, Corus and Lloyds TSB as well as Corby Borough Council and Northamptonshire County Council.
In 2010, there are plans to open a new skate only area in an adjacent warehouse and the Adrenaline Alley team is working hard to secure funds to build a World Class Centre of Excellence for urban sports in Corby. This will be a phased project and is an aspiration built from the consultation and creative ideas of the young people and participants of Adrenaline Alley and all its partners.
