VELUX Model Home 2020

Kettering has been chosen as the location for a revolutionary new concept for carbon neutral living, which is being launched by the VELUX Group. Plans are underway to build two semi-detached homes, which not only adhere to the highest of eco credentials but also will be easily transferable into the mass housing market.

In partnership with Kettering Borough Council, the North Northants Development Company (NNDC), HTA Architects and Willmott Dixon, VELUX is commencing work on the UK’s first project to build carbon neutral Model Homes in Kettering, Northamptonshire.

This initiative is putting Kettering on the map as a leader in energy efficient housing and will create significant employment for the local community.

Kettering Borough Council is committed to introducing and supporting green initiatives that can benefit existing and future residents of the area.

This initiative with VELUX is also another example of the wider aspirations for North Northamptonshire. Over the last few years, the area has been driving growth with world-class design and infrastructure projects. These plans balance the area’s desire for growth with the need for eco-friendly construction methods and an enhanced quality of life for residents.
