Burton Wold

Burton Wold Wind Farm is Northamptonshire’s first wind farm and provides renewable energy equivalent to the energy needs of approximately 10,000 homes.

As well as increasing renewable energy supply, Burton Wold Wind Farm is an important part of the solution to combat the serious threats of climate change and security of energy supply by increasing energy efficiency and energy conservation in local homes and businesses.

Supported by Kettering Borough Council, Burton Wold Wind Farm’s ten turbines produce approximately 47 million units of renewable electricity annually, equivalent to the needs of around 10,000 homes, which is a quarter of Kettering Borough's households. Burton Wold will prevent around 40,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide (CO2), 475 tonnes of Sulphur Dioxide and 140 tonnes of Nitrogen Oxides from entering the atmosphere annually.

Burton Wold was developed by Your Energy Ltd, which is owned by Mistral Windfarms, and the operators have committed to contributing £40,000 upon construction of the wind farm and £10,000 every year thereafter over the life of the project, for the implementation of energy efficiency and education projects in Burton Latimer.
