alpro

Alpro is the European pioneer in the development of mainstream soya-based food and drinks. For over 25 years, it has been championing a healthier, more sustainable way of producing and selling products that conserve the nutritional value of soya beans.

Today, the company employs over 760 people directly and more than 2,000 people indirectly via partnerships throughout Europe. In 2000, Belgian-headquartered Alpro made its first major expansion into the UK with the construction of a new soya milk factory in Kettering.

 

Weatherbys

Founded in 1770, Weatherbys is a family firm with a rich history. Weatherbys provides British Horseracing with its central administration acts as its bank and maintains the founding Thoroughbred breed register.

From its Wellingborough headquarters, the company employs 350 people and provides a range of financial and business services to the equine sector and operates successful customer service and back-office functions in addition to frontline headquarters staff.

 

Weetabix

The Weetabix Food Company has been creating breakfast cereals since 1932. Its global headquarters are part of an 82 acre manufacturing, office and logistics site in Kettering, where more than 3 billion Weetabix biscuits are made each year. Other popular brands which come from the site include Alpen, Ready brek and Weetos.

The company has two smaller factories in Corby too. The company employs around 1,600 people in the area in a wide range of roles ranging from office-based finance, management, sales and marketing, through to food research, production, packaging and distribution.

 

Scott Bader

The global headquarters of Scott Bader, the multinational chemical company employing 600 people worldwide, is located just outside Wellingborough. The site includes a world-class research and development centre, together with technical support facilities that provide product evaluation, testing and application support to global customers. 

Scott Bader products can be found all over the world from the wiring of the Shanghai underground system to the resins used on wind turbines blades.

 

TINGDENE

Established in 1969, Tingdene specialises in off-site modular manufacturing in the housing market. The company has two manufacturing sites totalling 20 acres in Wellingborough and employs around 300 staff. The company manufactures the very latest sustainable, modular houses before transporting them to eco-communities around the UK.

The company’s headquarters is the largest permanent display of static homes in the country.

 

RS components

From a lock up garage in London to a multinational company with offices in over 25 countries, RS Components has become the world's leading business-to-business supplier of industrial and electronic components. The company first moved to Northamptonshire in 1984 and subsequent expansion has made the company the largest employer in Corby and has more than 2,000 staff worldwide.

Recent awards achieved include Regional Winner at the National Training Awards 2008 and a winner at the Customer Service Awards 2008.
